Cash Gifts

Corporate Matching Gifts - Double Your Gift With a Corporate Matching Program
- Many corporations have established matching gift programs that are not well advertised or communicated to employees. Matching programs may be up to 100% dollar for dollar or a percentage match with a cap.
- If you work for a corporation, particularly a larger or publicly traded corporation, take the opportunity to inquire about an existing matching program.
- In most cases, a form along with a gift verification receipt from Salem is all it takes to successfully complete a corporate match. Contact us for assistance.
Gifts From An IRA:
Called a QCD (Qualified Charitable Distribution). If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a sizable gift from an individual retirement account (IRA) to Salem Christian Homes. Gifts from an IRA qualify for the RMD (Required Minimum Distribution)
- IRA holders must be age 70½ or older at the time of the gift.
- Give up to $108,000* per year, per person (2025)
- Gifts must be outright gifts made directly to a charitable organization.

Asset Gifts:
Present a tax-wise and wonderful opportunity to enlarge the total value and benefit of giving by side-stepping taxes associated with the sale of an appreciated asset in addition to receiving the fair market value deduction. Examples of common asset gifts include:
- Stocks or other Marketable Securities
- Real Estate (including rental properties, vacation homes, land or other real property)
- Business Interests
- Farm Commodities
- Life Insurance
Current& Future Gifting: The Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
Donor Advised Funds may be an ideal option to consider for an Asset Gift and are increasingly becoming a popular option for sustained generosity. Cash or Assets are gifted into a Donor Advised Fund for an immediate tax deduction and in the case of Assets taxes on appreciation are side-stepped. The Donor Advised Fund manages the liquidation of the assets and the proceeds may be invested prudently with no further tax consequence to the donor. You, as the donor, have the flexibility to recommend grants(gifts) now or in the future from your Donor Advised Fund to Salem Christian Homes or any other qualified charity at your discretion. Donor Advised Funds are simple and cost-efficient to establish. Barnabas Foundation - Stewards Fund or National Christian Foundation - Giving Fund are two readily available options for setting up a DAF.
Legacy or Planned Gifts:
Legacy or Planned Gifts are those categories of gifts that take into account future considerations that bring together stewardship of the totally of God’s material blessings in providing for oneself, family, heirs and ensuring a legacy of generosity that will continue to uphold a place like Salem Christian Homes and other qualified charitable organizations beyond one’s lifetime. Just about any type of asset may be the subject of a planned gift. Types of planned gifts include:
Lifetime Income Gifts:
These include Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts and are a wonderful solution if you wish to give to Salem but are concerned about having enough retirement income. These gifts provide income to the donor with a view to leaving a remainder benefit to Salem.
Life Insurance:
Naming Salem Christian Homes as a beneficiary of a life Insurance Policy.
A Will or Bequest:
