Volunteer

We want to invite you to take a look at opportunities you can take to serve Salem throughout the year. To continue God’s good work many helping hands are needed.

Board of Directors

As a family based organization, the work of Salem is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board establishes major policies, approves budgets, reviews financial statements, evaluates operations, assists with fundraising and provides support and advice to the CEO and administrative staff. Board members serve three year terms. For more information, contact Board President Eudell Vis at (909)238-8184 or Dan Copeland at (909)614-0576.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board was formed in this last year to help with the increasing fundraising needs of providing care for the 110 individuals at Salem. The Advisory Board sits under the Board of Directors and has the role of raising money, increasing awareness, and recruiting advisors and volunteers. If you are interested in being an advocate for Salem in this way, contact Neil Nehmens at (951)830-3127 for more information.

Promotions Committee

This committee consists of event planning for all of Salem’s promotional events, including “Run, Walk & Roll” and the annual Benefit Auction. If you are a hard worker, detail-oriented, people loving planner and have an interest in Salem’s events, contact Sue Vander Hart at (909)973-5333 or Cindy Behnke at (909)614-0585 for more information.

Volunteer Committee

There are several different types of volunteer positions, and you may have the skills to meet one of Salem’s needs! If you are interested in basic office assisting, planning and helping out at resident’s events, volunteering in the homes to work with the residents by reading, game or sports playing, outing support or much more, contact Tena Meinders at (909)614-0580 for more information.

50th Anniversary Committee

In 2011, Salem will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary! Salem’s life-changing work for half a century will be recognized throughout the year with different appreciation and awareness events. If you have ever been a part of Salem or want to be now, here is your chance to offer your knowledge and skills for the Historical, Publicity & Volunteer Recruitment, Events, or Gala subcommittees. Contact Cindy Behnke at (909)614-0585 for more information.
